Teddy Bear Tea

Penny and I took our 5 girls to a teddy bear tea party at a tea shop in Littleton. They read stories to the girls, served them gummy bear tea & teddy grahams, let them color teddy bear sheets, and listened to music.

It was so stinking cute!

The best news is.... they do it every Tuesday and......It's FREE!!

all listening so well

Are we raising a hippy???

So I never said she was normal. Her hippy side is coming out. After all....we are her parents!

Happy St. Patty's Day

Our neighbor Troy had a last minute afternoon get together at his house. He blew up the bouncy castle and the 13 kiddos had a blast! I should mention there were only 2 boys in the mix, and the girls were having fun picking on poor Garrett! We are definately looking forward to the 3 boys arriving to our block in June. We need some more testasterone in this hood!

Anniversary family day

Kevin has been working his tail off for awhile, so he decided to take the day off to spend it with us. The weather was so nice that we decided to head to the zoo. It was Presley's 2nd time there and she really enjoyed it this time. The fish were her favorite. Mackenzie loved the monkeys! I can't wait for the summer so we can have more fun days at the zoo!

Here we go!!!

Presley is officially into everything!!! Fun times ahead!

8 wonderful years

8 years ago I married my best friend and 1 incredibly handsome man! We have done a lot in 8 years: I moved to Colorado, we bought a house together, we have been on several vacations including Europe, & have had 2 precious little girls. I am so blessed to have a happy marriage and a perfect family! Here's to the next 50 years!!

Mangoes or Penicillin???

Sweet Presley broke out in a slight rash on Monday morning. It followed the line of her diaper. I wasn't sure if I should be concerned until she started getting hives on her legs, arms, and face within a few hours. We went into the doctor's office. She thought it was either Penicillin since she was on day 7 of taking Amoxicillin or Mangoes since we introduced them 3 days earlier. She told us to dose her up with Benadryl and in a few weeks try the mangoes again to figure it out.

Day 2: When she woke up her face was so swollen and her eyes were nearly swollen shut. By breakfast time she was covered in red swollen patches. By lunch, her hands and feet were so swollen her toes and knuckles were turning blue! I called the doctor panicking that she was loosing circulation to her fingers and toes from all of the swelling! They had me come right over where she was diagnosed with Erythema Multiforme. It is a rare drug reaction from the Penicillin and it causes the skin to turn blue in patches. Benadryl will not help, so Prednisone is the best treatment.

Day 3: Presley got much better quickly. The rash is still there but not bad. She still has a bad cough that has been lingering for 3 days now. I am worried that she is going to get sick because she is immunosuppressed!

Day 6: Back to the doctor because she is wheezing and coughing non stop. She is now diagnosed with another double ear infection and bronchiolitis.

We are now trying a new antibiotic and praying there are no allergies to this one. My poor sweet girl has been through a lot and has been such a trooper! The Prednisone did not wire her or make her crazy thank goodness!! It usually does both to kids!

Here are some pictures. They do not do this rash justice. She looked much worse than this. I have never seen anything like it, and that is saying a lot after being a dermatology nurse for 4 years.

within 1 hour she looked like this

Merry Christmas in March???

Mackenzie can't stop singing Christmas carols. She listens to them every night, listens to them in the car, & sings them nonstop. Here is a little video of her singing one of her favorites!

Romp n Roll

I take a baby class at Romp n Roll with Presley while Mackenzie is in school. She has so much fun playing with her friends Lexi and Lila! She loves the bubbles and chewing on every toy that is put in front of her.
