4th in the LBK

We started our month long vacation with going to Lubbock for the 4th of July. My stayed at my parents lake house for all of the community activities and fireworks! The girls loved decorating the golf cart and riding in the parade! The adults loved sitting on the deck with a margarita machine 10 steps away watching the fireworks!

 I had a hair appointment at 6:30 AM in town, so the only benefit to getting up so early is seeing the sunrise over the lake! The picture did not do it justice!

Beach trip 1 (Galveston)

11 posts in 1 night! Woohoo! Maybe I can catch up after all!

We went to Galveston for a vaca with Kevin's family the weekend of my birthday! Emmie got sick & threw up the day before we left, but she recovered after 24 hours. So, off we drove and drove and drove through Houston traffic :(

Saturday night Presley threw up, so after cleaning her up I went to warn Mackenzie only to find her running to the bathroom to do the same! I knew I would be next, so I tried to enjoy the last few hours of my birthday! As expected, I was up all night long sick and the entire drive home! It was definitely not our best trip!

It's a good thing my kids don't care about the brown water of Galveston, because it grosses me OUT!

VBS FUN

Mackenzie was asked to do VBS with several neighborhood kids at a church about 20 minutes from our house. I was hesitant since I had already signed her up for one another week, but she wanted to do both. Presley's BFF Mia wanted her to do a preschool VBS at her church with her 40 minutes from the house! On top of it all, it was the same week and the same times!

I had multiple people offer to carpool, & Mia's mom offered to drive Presley to and from all week. YEAH!! They both had such a blast & they argued all week as to which VBS CD we would get to listen to in the car! 

Both had different themes every day which was also a it crazy, but we did it & will probably do it again next summer!

Once school was out I wanted o spend some one-on-one time with my big girls! 

I bought a Groupon for a painting place that had kid friendly days! I kept it a secret from Mackenzie until we walked in. It was so much fun!!

 Presley is such a glamour girl, so I took her for a pedicure! It was her 1st full pedicure, and she smiled the entire time!

This school year flew by with our move! We are blessed to be at such a great school and to have met such great friends. Mackenzie has 3 other 1st graders on our block! She was so excited on the last day to find out she tested into an advanced math class. Next year she will be learning 3rd grade math instead of 2nd grade math. My question is... when will she learn 2nd grade math? We will see!

Here We Go Again

The first time Mackenzie had her ears pierced turned into a nightmare! When she wanted to change them after 8 weeks, it turned into a 2 hour crying screaming session that she was to afraid to let us put any other ones in. After 3-4 sessions of this, we let them grow back! We told her no more till she was 7. She collected some birthday money and decided to go for it! She was nervous but did fine!

 Well of course Presley wanted hers done too! She had NO Fear despite us telling her it would hurt. After they did it she cried, and the look on her face said, "mom why didn't you tell me it would hurt". Poor baby, but she did fine after about 5 minutes of sobbing!

We are digging our new neighborhood. The street behind us has a few houses that put on a huge BBQ every summer. I regretted not bringing swim suits as soon as we saw the water slide. Oh well, Kevin just took them home to get dry clothes when they finished.

Girls trip

My mom wanted to have a girls trip with her sisters for her birthday, & I told her that I wanted to come. Then the wheels started turning that their girls should come too! We booked a resort in San Antonio for the weekend, and we drove from all parts of Texas to meet. We had the best time!! There is nothing like the comfort you feel around family. We heard some interesting stories, LOL! This will be an annual trip for sure! We enjoyed the spa, rented a cabana, went to the river walk, someone (who should remain nameless) danced on the bar at "Coyote Ugly".

 You can't eat dinner in San Antonio without being bothered, oh I mean treated, by a mariachi band.
